First of all we should know about what is threaten ? Threaten is someone's intention to take action against someone in retribution for something done or not done. Threatening is held in Indian Penal (IPC) under section 189, 190, 195 (A), 503.
Dowry is also type of threatening it is in 304 B because to harass by her husband or any other related demanding for dowry.
Is is the threatening is crime? The answer is yes threatening is crime
What to do: You Should be call the police or go to police station for FIR.
Punishments for Threatening : Imprisonment for 7 years or fine or both, same as for the offence if false evidence will given
